Quit Smoking – Be Uncomfortable!

It’s okay to feel uncomfortable sometimes, to succeed and accomplish something worthwhile it can often be a necessity that is often overlooked. People like to remain in their comfort zone. But that’s not where change happens is it? Life isn’t about always being comfortable.

Take for example food cravings, quit smoking, perhaps to stop smoking or reduce alcohol. How about if you don’t give in to the thought of another cigarette, a piece of cake, or another glass of alcohol. Just be determined to be okay with feeling uncomfortable for a while. It will pass, and so will your desire for another cigarette.

I guess you’ve heard of the expression ‘use it or lose it!’ Well, it’s true when it comes to habits and habitual thoughts.

If you habitually think of something unwanted then immediately distract yourself by doing something else, anything else. Performing this each and every time the unwanted thought appears the old thought, the old habit starts to neurologically fade away.

It is proven that the receptors in your brain that you use to repeatedly fired off start to die, as do the neural pathways you previously created.
