Absolute Absolute Sanctuary Resort Review

Absolute Sanctuary is on Koh Samui in Thailand is promoted as ‘Thailand’s Premier Detox and Yoga Resort.’

I wouldn’t know about that as I haven’t a great deal of experience in detoxing, or Yoga for that matter!

All I can say is the food seemed pretty detox-ing, and I guess healthy to me with its wide and varied range of raw foods and juices, alongside less than half a dozen ‘cooked’ dishes, all served in the named ‘Loved kitchen’.

I wasn’t there to detox as such, or lose weight so I mostly went for the cooked options. Also my choice often because raw food doesn’t suit my delicate stomach!

I particularly liked the fried (overly sometimes!) Chicken Breast with Yellow Curry Powder, Cucumber & Yogurt-garlic Sauce side dish with broccoli and carrot, Fragrant Chicken in Lemon Cups, Chick Pea Falafel – when they weren’t too dry – topped with avocado, yummy. Some of the desserts, forbidden by most, were more-ish especially the carrot cake, chocolate and spirulina balls – yep Spirulina, but you can’t taste it!

All portions oddly enough were too large even for a non-dieter like myself. Saying that, for 4 days I did eat a lot of fruit and avoided meat and carbs.

I felt pretty good by doing it, although somewhat bored after a while with the vegetarian food choices.

I know fasting and detoxing is good for you, everyone should try it and many do on a regular basis. Of course detoxing is different from wanting weight loss, usually by a dreaded calorie controlled diet, which I am against.

Diets don’t work in the long term remember! Detoxing is too cleanse the body (and mind), to eliminate those nasty accumulated toxins.

Um, dieting is to lose weight and then put it all + more back on again and to starve and torture yourself throughout! Better to follow my ‘Weight Loss Made Easy’ 4 Step system ;-)

QEPR of course is great for relieving any detox, fasting symptoms, such as nausea, headaches, cravings, heightened emotions and anxiety either by using TFT (Thought Field Therapy) or Havening techniques.

Absolute Sanctuary is a Moroccan inspired boutique resort and features a gym, swimming pool – where you can leisurely sit beside and have a refreshing juice or coconut water – and a spa with various pampering and therapeutic body and foot massages and facials.

Non of which I was offered to try as a visiting consultant so I can’t comment on how good they are (I studied foot and body massage at the famed Wat Pho School in Bangkok many years ago)

The resort also offers various detox, yoga, lifestyle and spa programs. You can also have a consultation with a Naturopath – which I thoroughly recommend! The resort also has its regular visiting consultants which are usually based on the Island, such as expert Alister Bredee http://healthambit.com/

Although not a sea view like many, my accommodation was pleasant enough. I particularly enjoyed the maids daily towel on the bed art. The first was a monkey! Monkey Towel

A few days later it was a Turtle. Just one, so I took it apart and studied how it was done then put it back together and added two of my own additions. A new career for me?! Turtles Cute eh :-)
